A Note from the Artist...

Always intrigued by the meaning of the ‘Tree of Life’.  An icon, a universal symbol recognised all around the world.  The tree of life is a symbol of unity, representing the idea that all life on earth is connected; though we may all spread out in various directions, just like the roots from the tree which dig deep and spread throughout the earth.  Faith grows wherever life happens. We are all part of the same tree, something bigger, a connection to everything.  The tree of life sustains, nourishes and endures all things.  It stands in the centre of a fruitful garden planted by God, among all the trees in the Garden of Eden.  We identified two special trees, the tree of life and the tree of good and evil. The tree in the garden that brought death, and the second tree- the cross that overcame death which equals the tree of life, the creator, the source of life.  A wonderful reality this is!  The cross of Christ is indeed the tree of life.

I began with a vision in my heart first.  The vision painted on a huge canvas.  When I finished the painting the title dropped into my heart.  The tree of life = The Cross. No matter which way I thought of the title for this painting,  The tree of life =The Cross, or The Cross = The tree of life, or The tree of good and evil + The Cross = The tree of life. The answer is the same, it leads me to the sacred heart of God.  Who is this Almighty God? The one who created the heavens and earth.

The Cross is the tree of life.  The tree of life as the symbol of the cross.  The tree was the love of God, bringing forth an everlasting life for you and me, ultimately demonstrated on a tree, the cross.

Painting inspired by God.
