A Note from the Artist...

This painting represents humanity raising from the darkness and reaching out to Jesus. 

Along the way, some individuals and families come across the Salvos and experience compassion, unconditional love and practical support.

Actions speak louder than words. And as the Salvation Army shows a pathway lit by Jesus, darkness recedes and we share our journey in the Light of God.  

​

This painting also depicts my own journey. I found myself in a dark place last year. Having lost all face to face connection with family and friends, those I love in this world, I also felt very disconnected from God. I saw such suffering around the world that, for the first time in decades, I lost faith that all is well.  

​

Then one of my friends invited me to join a small, intimate art therapy group in Drysdale. And there I found God again. Entering sacred space, my own ‘bubble’ lit up and I journey in the Light again. 

​

And I will forever be grateful to the Salvos, and in particular to Carmela for helping me without words.
