A Note from the Artist...
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. JAMES 5:16
This image was created to show, that as we are physically caring for others, we do so with a prayerful heart and a
mind focused on God. We care for people as an expression of God’s love, that very love that he has showered upon us in grace and mercy.
When this image was forming in my mind, I was thinking along the lines of God protecting us under his wings. I then envisioned a little ones hands nestled in a pair of larger praying hands to portray the vision of God’s encompassing love. It also brings to mind the woven ideas between both a physical and a spiritual protection.
Our hands are designed to interact with the world we live in everyday. We use them to do chores around the house, to make music, to feel and to touch, to lift and to hold, to work and to comfort.
How we use our hands is an extension of what is deep in our hearts. We ask ourselves; are our hands as well as our minds being used to show and honour God in the caring for others.
Transformed by God, our hands can not only bring help but sometimes a more needed hope to people, to make a difference in the world around us. May we use our hands for good, to love and to bless others and above all to reflect God’s love that he has for us.
May we become sources of strength and hope, encouragement and blessing as we touch the lives of those around us. May we lift others up around us in prayer that they will experience first hand, his love for them.
LUKE 24:50
Then he lead them out to the vicinity of Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.
