A Note from the Artist....

I was inspired to create this artwork: AFTER THE MEETING, because as important as the Sunday meeting is, I think what goes on after the meeting while we all share a cuppa together is such a significant time. It is a time when we are able to express our care and concern for others – whoever they may be - a well-seasoned soldier/officer, a new adherent, a struggling family or maybe a person who just walked into our meeting for the very first time.

We can offer friendship, prayers, conversations, a listening ear and of course, something to eat and drink. I particularly like the sentence in our mission statement of Caring for People which says:
‘We seek to be a safe place of welcome for all and listen to understand without judgement.’

Hopefully, that is what is reflected in my drawing. As one can see, I am not a professional artist, but it gives me pleasure to record in my own way, ordinary life as it goes on around us. May this simple drawing bring joy to those who see it and most of all, may it make God – the Creator of all things - smile 😊.
