A Note from the Artist...
My name is Rosemarie Congreve and I am a member of the Ringwood Corps.
I have been cross stitching for approximately 20 years, with this piece being one of my most challenging and loved works.
To me, the story behind this reproduction of the famous painting by Albrecht Durer shows that despite the immense love, sacrifice, humility and sorrow in both Albert and Albrecht Durer’s lives, they were still able to see God’s guiding hand throughout, an acknowledgement that we cannot always do everything in our own right and God is always there for guidance through prayer.
It also reminds me of the well-known Bible verses, John 3:16-17:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.”
